Sekinchan
Sekinchan is a small town on the west coast of Malaysia. It’s home to the Paddy Processing Factory, with a museum about the local rice industry. The elaborate Nan Tian Temple sits in one of the town’s many rice fields. Near Redang Beach, the Wishing Tree is draped with red ribbons. Just south, the fishing village of Bagan has many seafood restaurants. The area is also a shelter for migratory birds, such as herons.
Sekinchan Paddy Fields
Here, Rice fields are definitely a sight that cannot be missed, because as soon as you look at them, the eyes of tourists will immediately be attracted by the vast rice fields. The most special thing is that this charming field scenery will also show different beauty because of the different months.
Fishing Village
Bagan Fishing Village is on the left side of the main road leading to Sekinchan. After seeing paddy field on your right, drive further north along the main road until you come to a traffic light. There is a small sign showing turn left to Bagan Fishing Village at the traffic light. After turning left, go straight until you come to a T-junction. Turn right and you will see a row of shophouses on your right. There are a lot of seafood restaurants along both sides of this road, you will be spoilt for choice. People come here for fresh seafood at affordable price.
Sekinchan Beach
This beach is popular with tourists and locals, and can be busy on weekends with a hive of activities. A great place to relax as you look out into the horizon with the sea breeze enveloping you. The best place for sunset – fantastic hues of colours as the sun sets, with the reflection of the last rays over the sea. And then the flashing beacon lights come on as the night descends. The sun typically sets around 7.00pm. It is best to have an early dinner at 6pm and head down to the beach thereafter.
Sekinchan Wishing Tree
And wish makers will have to throw the ribbon that’s tied to the coin up onto the tree and let it dangle there for the wish to come true. It is said that the higher the ribbon with the coin dangled on the tree, the higher chance the wishes made will come true.
Nan Tian Temple
Sekinchan most famous temple goes to Nan Tian Temple, a temple located in the middle of paddy field in Sekinchin Site A. Besides Nan Tian Temple, one can drop by at Tian Fu Temple, Bao An Temple, Xian Fa Shi Gong Temple, Shuui Wei Sheng Nian Temple, Guan Di Temple, Nan Hai Guan Yin Temple, just to name a few
